Washington DC

Ryker really likes history stuff, me, not so much.

We left our spot in Brooklyn around 7:30 am and went down the street to get some coffee at Variety, it was eh. Then we hit the road.

After about three hours we stopped in Wilmington, Delaware to shower at a Planet Fitness and to get coffee at Brandywine, amazing coffee and awesome space. 10 out of 10! We spend about an hour or so at the shop before hitting the road for Washington DC.

Once we got there we stopped at a Target to grab some last groceries for the last few days of our trip before heading out to our camp spot for the night.

Only day in DC

We started off our morning by getting some coffee at Slipstream. It was okay, I guess.. not the best but not the worst. From coffee we went to start our day by driving down toward the National Mall to visit some of the Smithsonian museums. We started off with the National American History Museum. It had a lot of different exhibits about all the wars and about movies and transportation. It was pretty cool. After that museum we had to move the car, so we moved and made some sandwiches for lunch. After eating, we moved a lot closer to the center of the Mall so we could see some more museums. Next up was the National Gallery of Art, very pretty paintings. We spent a good amount of time there before heading over towards the National Aerospace Museum, super cool seeing all the spaceship and plane history.

After spending more time in there, we walked over to the Capitol Building. We got as close as you can get to the building before starting to head back to the car to move to another spot. On the way we stopped to get some ice cream from an ice cream truck, which was super nice because I haven't had ice cream from an ice cream truck in a long time.

After we moved the car, the sun had started to set, which was perfect for our monument walk. We took the long walk along the water as the sunset, all the monuments were lit up and it was gorgeous. A lovely way to end our day in DC.

At the end of our walk we went back to the car and drove to a Planet Fitness and then back to our camp spot for the night.
