Rapid City

This will be the most boring post you'll read about this trip.

Day one of hotel life

We got a room with two beds because for some reason those were cheaper than the rooms with one bed. We're trying to see the bright side of the whole hotel situation, like now we have a shower and a toilet for whenever we want to use it. The hotel even has complimentary "very good" breakfast, which was okay haha. Now we're trying trying to rework our schedule to see what needs to be cut or moved around after a few days here.

We were able to order Dominos pizza up to the hotel room for dinner so that was cool.

Not much else happened this night.

Day two of hotel life

We woke up to have breakfast downstairs, free food. It was decent for hotel food haha. We spend a majority of the day in the hotel room watching tv and not doing much. We got hungry later so we walked a bit away to a Target to get some frozen dinners. After we got back to the hotel we heated up our dinners and went back to watching youtube and playing Mario Kart before going to bed.

Day three of hotel life

Hopefully today is the day we get out of here, but so far no luck. We had to check out of the hotel in the early afternoon but we still hadn't gotten the brake parts yet. So we went back down and had breakfast before packing up the room

We checked out of the hotel with still no word from the car shop, so we walked to a Starbucks in a mall nearby the hotel and we posted there for a few hours before decided if we should book another night.

After a few (5) hours of sitting in the food court and hearing nothing back from the car shop, we decided we should to book another night at the hotel... So we walked back and got a new room for the night. fingers crossed we can get out of here tomorrow before we lose our minds.

Day four of hotel life

We are so over being stuck in this hotel. Again, got breakfast and then had to check out at 1pm. We got the room clean and then went to the lobby. We still hadn't heard anything about the car, so Ryker called them and they still didn't get the parts in... we were livid. We stayed in the hotel lobby hoping to hear anything about positive about the car. We order Postmates Buffalo Wild Wings to the hotel to eat some actual food. They finally called back and said that it isn't coming in today, so we booked another hotel room and went up to the room for the night.

Day five of hotel life

Woke up, got breakfast, same deal. We really hope the car is done today because the shop is closed tomorrow so fingers crossed we can get out of here today and finally be off to Colorado.

We checked out of the hotel at noon and took an Uber to the shop in hopes of the part coming in. After chilling there for an hour, the parts arrived! Now it was just waiting for the technician to drive down (on his day off) to do the brake job.

After two more hours we were done and out of there! It took us 6.5 hours to drive to Boulder, Colorado. We got into town at about 10:30pm, hit up a Taco Bell, got gas, and parked up for the night.
